A big mahalo to Dr. Kenneth Chang for taking good care of me. I've been struggling reading and driving at night and felt like i kept failing the eye test for my driver's license. The staff is super professional and very helpful and friendly too. They have up to date equipment. They scheduled me quickly to get all my appointments in from start to finish. The best part, I can read now! I can see at night and during the day! My life has improved tremendously. A big mahalo nui loa for this great location by roys in Hawai‘i kai. Surgery is done in iwilei in between home depot and costco at dole. That's a bit of a pain but the staff is also nice and friendly and you're in good hands. They give you snacks, drinks, black bag and implant cards for info on the eyes. Bonus is the free parking at both locations. If you're having trouble seeing, make an appointment! I love a sense of humor and we exchanged jokes because i was extremely nervous and needed dad jokes to calm me down! Dr. Chang was a good sport! Many of us including myself wouldve never thought of being in an impossible situation yet with a unfortunate timing that situation was possible and due to a rogue firework my right eye took a hit that i never seen coming. At the time I didn’t know what was going to be the result from the injury but I want to make it very clear and known that from the moment I was admitted into ER Dr. Chang personally oversaw my case from the very beginning and on his own personal time for that alone I am extremely thankful. As time passed on I have been in consistent appointments with Dr. Chang and his office and i would like to say my experience has been no short of amazing and outstanding support from the jump. Through Gods grace I am extremely grateful and thankful to say due to Dr. Chang’s urgency, expertise and knowledge with also the help of his office/staff as well as modern medication and lastly his referrals with the other specialists to also oversee my case I was able to preserve my vision in what was no short of a miracle case. I thank everyone involved in my case and thank you again Dr. Chang for everything. For anyone looking for anything related to your eyes or vision look no further as you have already found the best eye doctor.

My cataract is gone, my vision is great, and I’m massively impressed by the professional execution of everyone at every step in Dr. Chang’s network. Last month I had 20/50 in my left eye and so clouded up I could not drive at night with headlight glare. One week ago I showed up to get my eyes cut open and lens replaced. Honestly I was slightly freaking out about the surgery. But all those anxieties were swept away the moment the nurse started the process. Going through those surgery center doors was like stepping in this other world where there were healthcare professionals everywhere with happy local attitudes and all executing like super professionals. I was immediately put at ease. We had to go through a lot of steps (I’ll spare you the details) and at each step I was handled with genuine care, confidence, and top-notch service. After the first 15 minutes I was emotionally ready for whatever was coming. All because of them. A few hours later I was back on my way home, a little groggy from the anesthesia but otherwise all good - enough to eat 2 McDonald’s Local Deluxe breakfasts (because I was fasting from the night before and because with only 1 eye open I ordered 2 instead of 1 but hey). Next day I was seeing the world through a clear set of eyes. Amazing! One week later, today as I write this, I’m so happy I did this and so impressed by Dr. Chang and his entire team that I sat here and wrote all this out to help you decide! For now, my left is eye solid. Right eye is good for now, but if and when that time ever comes, I know where to go. Dr. Chang will be my eye doctor for life. (I’m way older than him so I’m sure he’ll outlive me). Check him out. I think you’ll agree.

I'm writing about my great experience with having cataract surgery with Dr. Kenneth Chang. I was very hesitant to have it done because I didn't know how easy it was. For about two years I've felt off balance, after the surgery I'm no longer feeling unbalanced. The care I received from Dr. Chang and his staff and all the staff at the Eye Surgery Center was excellent. They were all very kind and professional. I would highly recommend Dr. Chang for eye surgery and care. I only wish I had done it sooner.

At the age of 17 the English writer Aldous Huxley was afflicted with an eye disease which left him unable to read and almost blind. In desperation he sought treatment via the 'Bates Method' espoused by Dr. Horatio Bates, an eye-care physician who believed that most eye problems were caused by excessive eye strain and that relieving that strain would effect a cure. It didn't. Over the next few years, however, Huxley's eyesight improved enough for him to continue his studies. He want on to write 'Brave New World' and, of all things, 'The Art of Seeing'. Fortunately for us, we no longer have to rely on dubious treatments and have modern science and skilled ophthalmologists to rely on. Dr. Chang recently removed my cataracts and my only regret is not having it done sooner. He returned to me the excellent vision of my youth. I no longer need glasses of any kind. Long forgotten colors are vivid once again, and the very world itself now looks like a better place. The surgery was not only quick and painless, recovery was quick. Everyone at the Eye Surgery Center and at Dr. Chang's office was professional and kind.

This is the most comfortable eye doctor office. From the front desk Junice welcomed me , Doctor assistant very gentle and Doctor Kenneth Chang, very friendly, welcoming, has a lot of patients . Took time to explain what is going on with my eye. Besides the pain and fear I was also nervous to go in. Now they have my trust and will return again . Def recommend it.

I would like to give the highest recommendation to Eye Doctors Hawaii and their staff. From my first appointment, I felt like I was family and not just another patient. Nin, Kailani, Esther at the reception desk was exceptional. They recognized me by name, answered all of my questions, called to remind me of my appointments. Always smiled and welcomed me every time. Linda was so friendly, despite my nervousness, she always took the time to explain the process. Her bubbly personality reduced my anxiety of having surgery and felt like it was going to be a painless but simple procedure.
